Introduction

The Palliative Care Acute Practice Development Team is a specialist resource for palliative and end of life education, training and support across the Acute Sector.
This Practice Development team comprises 1.6 of WTE.

  • 0.2 Palliative Care Facilitators for Clyde Sector (2 Nurse Facilitators)
  • 1.4 Palliative Care Facilitators for Greater Glasgow (3 Nurse Facilitators)

The Practice Development Team is available Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm.

Purpose

The main role of the Practice Development Team is to empower staff and positively influence the care delivered to patients. Our team:

  • Provides evidence based education to staff which supports and adheres to national and local guidance
  • Plans, delivers and evaluates Palliative and End of Life Care education
  • Provides bespoke training and support to individuals or teams tailored to need
  • Helps develop local and national policies, guidelines and documents
  • Supports staff using CAS Standard 11 End of Life Care
  • Leads and supports project work in Palliative Care
  • Supports clinical practice by working with clinical team

  • Communication Skills Training
    • Sage & Thyme Workshops
    • Intermediate Communication
    • Advanced Communication
  • Guidance at End of Life (GAEL) education
  • Inspiring Leadership Programme
  • Symptom Assessment & Management in Palliative Care 5 day module
    Syringe Pump / T34 / Bodyguard T education

Other/Bespoke training can be offered upon request.

NMC Revalidation
