Introduction
The Palliative Care Acute Practice Development Team is a specialist resource for palliative and end of life education, training and support across the Acute Sector.
This Practice Development team comprises 1.6 of WTE.
- 0.2 Palliative Care Facilitators for Clyde Sector (2 Nurse Facilitators)
- 1.4 Palliative Care Facilitators for Greater Glasgow (3 Nurse Facilitators)

Purpose
The main role of the Practice Development Team is to empower staff and positively influence the care delivered to patients. Our team:
- Provides evidence based education to staff which supports and adheres to national and local guidance
- Plans, delivers and evaluates Palliative and End of Life Care education
- Provides bespoke training and support to individuals or teams tailored to need
- Helps develop local and national policies, guidelines and documents
- Supports staff using CAS Standard 11 End of Life Care
- Leads and supports project work in Palliative Care
- Supports clinical practice by working with clinical team

- Sage & Thyme Workshops
- Intermediate Communication
- Advanced Communication
- Guidance at End of Life (GAEL) education
- Inspiring Leadership Programme
- Symptom Assessment & Management in Palliative Care 5 day module
Syringe Pump / T34 / Bodyguard T education
Other/Bespoke training can be offered upon request.
